Alex is a proven web entrepreneur, having led and sold multiple successful startups. Prior to co-founding EdgeCast, he was a co-founder, chairman and CEO of KnowledgeBase. A hosted enterprise knowledge management company with many fortune 1000 customers. At KnowledgeBase he worked with co-founders James, Phil and Lior, and as CEO was involved in all aspects of the company and responsible for its development. Prior to starting KnowledgeBase, Alex founded HostPro, an industry-leading web hosting and application services provider. In August 1999, Micron Electronics (MUEI) acquired HostPro, and Alex became vice president of operations. In this role, Alex was responsible for developing HostPro's shared, dedicated and managed businesses with 430 employees in sales, marketing, engineering, and product development. Alex was instrumental in helping HostPro grow into one of the largest web hosting companies in the industry, with over 70,000 customers worldwide and operations in Los Angeles, California; Seattle, Washington; Boise, Idaho, and Boca Raton, Florida. With over twelve years of leadership experience in information technology and business operations, Alex has successfully led a number of businesses initiatives that include developing technology solutions and bringing them to market, designing front and back office operations and managing day-to-day business, sales and support operations. Additionally, he has extensive application development, web hosting, and data center build-out and management experience. In addition to his leadership position with EdgeCast, Alex is a partner in several venture capital funds, and a board member of numerous companies including Web.com (NASDAQ: WWWW). Alex earned a B.A. degree in international relations and economics from Tufts University. He currently resides in Los Angeles. |

James is a proven web entrepreneur, having led and sold two successful startups. Prior to co-founding EdgeCast, James was vice president of business development for Talisma Corporation, an enterprise software vendor focusing on CRM software. James joined Talisma as a result of the acquisition of his company, KnowledgeBase, where he was president & COO. At KnowledgeBase, he worked with co-founders Alex, Phil and Lior, and was involved in all aspects of the company and responsible for its growth and development. With more than six years of leadership experience in the technology sector, James has started and grown businesses, built out scalable product and technology solutions, and created and managed high performance management teams.
Prior to KnowledgeBase, James successfully led Web-hosting company Virtualis Systems through start-up, growth, acquisition, and a merger/integration. He was then COO of the web hosting division of Allegiance Telecom (Nasdaq: ALGX), the communications concern that acquired Virtualis in Fall 2000. While at Allegiance, James managed the integration of Virtualis as well as other ISP acquisitions into one centralized hosting network eventually re-branded as Hosting.com. James has a deep consumer marketing background having spent his early career (seven years) in brand management at Mattel before being sent by Mattel to business school full time as their first ever sponsored MBA. Prior to leaving Mattel, James was brand manager for Hot Wheels and responsible for more than $150 million in sales. James received his MBA from Harvard Business School and received his operations, marketing, finance and leadership skills from his front line positions growing brands and businesses. James lives in Los Angeles. |

Phil is a proven web entrepreneur, having been responsible for global sales for two successful startups. Prior to co-founding EdgeCast, he was director of sales for Talisma Corporation, an enterprise software vendor focusing on CRM software. Phil came to Talisma as a result of the acquisition of his company KnowledgeBase, where he was co-founder and vice president of worldwide sales and support, where he oversaw the sales and support for the company.
Before KnowledgeBase, Phil was at HostPro, an industry-leading web hosting and application services provider, and was responsible for leading and building its sales department from the ground up. Once Micron Electronics acquired HostPro, Phil was director of inside sales, responsible for inside and outside sales representatives as well as post-sale support. Prior to HostPro, Phil worked in voice and data sales at WorldCom. Phil holds B.A. in classics from Tufts University and resides in Los Angeles. |

Jay has 12 years of technology-related expertise and is a proven serial entrepreneur. He most recently served as the co-founder and chief architect at IP3 Networks, a Sequoia Capital-backed visitor-based networking company. At IP3, Jay built the entire VBN router and technology and filed several patents. Prior to IP3, he served as chief network architect for iWay Broadband, an in-building broadband deployment internet service provider based in San Diego.
Before iWay, Jay worked with Alex, Phil and Lior as a key member of the HostPro technology team, where he was the network architect for HostPro Los Angeles. HostPro provided a variety of hosting services including backup and recovery, system monitoring and reporting as well as applications hosting and e-commerce solutions. Jay was instrumental in creating and managing these technologies and the supporting network infrastructure as well as the design of a 20,000 square foot data center and 24x7 network operations center. Jay resides in Los Angeles. |

Lior is responsible for architecting the EdgeCast System. He is a long standing business partner of Alex, James and Phil, having co-founded both KnowledgeBase and HostPro. At KnowledgeBase, Lior was responsible for product research and development and new technology development. Lior successfully developed searching and indexing technologies for KnowledgeBase's cutting-edge hosted service, and managed the indexing process for terabytes of customer data.
Prior to KnowledgeBase, Lior co-founded HostPro. While with HostPro, Lior was in charge of research and development and developed leading client control panel technologies and state-of-the-art server management systems that enabled provisioning for more than 70,000 web sites over multiple operating environments. Lior has extensive experience with many programming languages and operating systems including Irix, BSD, Linux, Sun, and Windows. Lior was the architect behind a series of technologies that were patented and are now critical to the web hosting architecture used by many companies. Lior has won many accolades and awards in the area of robotics, has published several papers and is currently a doctoral candidate in computer science at the University of Southern California. He resides in Los Angeles. |
